Osmolite® HP

Osmolite HP

Product Description

Osmolite HP is a 1.0 kcal/ml, high-protein tube feed for people with, or at risk of developing, disease-related malnutrition. Osmolite HP is available in a 500 ml Ready to Hang bottle, which attaches directly to Abbott giving sets.

Tube feeds are designed for people who cannot take in all of the calories and nutrients they need by mouth. Tube feeding usually starts in hospital, and involves delivering a nutritionally complete liquid feed directly into the stomach or small bowel via a narrow tube. Your healthcare professional will be able to advise you on which tube feed is right for you.

Abstract

A group of specialist dietitians with extensive experience of enteral tube feeding came together to discuss some of these key issues and to develop a bolus feeding decision aid to help in the day-to-day management of these patients. The aid is designed to provide practical, day-to-day guidance for dietitians and other healthcare professionals and to be used as training material for more experienced dietitians to share with dietitians new to bolus feeding modalities.
