Cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA) is one of the most common food allergies in infancy.1,2 It’s an immune-mediated response to proteins in cow’s milk that occurs with ingestion, and is one of the most difficult allergies to diagnose.3
CMPA can be classified according to the immune mechanism in Immunoglobulin (Ig)E, non-IgE mediated CMPA and mixed IgE and non-IgE CMPA.4
Infants with CMPA can show a variety of symptoms including gastrointestinal, skin and respiratory symptoms.4
