Abstract:

Abbott’s ready-to-hang feeds are moving to a new, improved bottle design, following investment in a new manufacturing line. Developed using user feedback, the updated bottles still contain the same science-based nutrition as before.

Abbott has recently invested in a new production line for our ready-to-hang (RTH) feeds, which is scheduled to commence operation in the first quarter of 2026.

The introduction of the new manufacturing line presented us with the opportunity to rethink our RTH feed bottles and find innovative ways to make positive improvements to our packaging moving forward.

The updated bottles have been developed using the valuable feedback of healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients,¹ and still contain the same science-based nutrition as before. No change has been made to the nutritional composition of our feeds, which remain precisely the same as HCPs and patients have come to expect.

What has changed is that our widely recyclable^{^} bottles now use less plastic.^*2 The improved packaging features a 19-22% reduction in plastic weight across the range of 500ml, 1000ml and 1500ml RTH feeds.^*2

Rollout of the new packaging will begin in early 2026 and will be featured on all Abbott RTH feeds sold in the UK.
