Abstract:
Fibre is an essential nutrient for human health. Despite this, most children, including those with disease-related malnutrition receiving nutrition support, fall short of daily recommended intakes. This article provides a summary of the consensus statements arising from a review that evaluated evidence underpinning current fibre recommendations in children and offers some practical suggestions on how to apply in clinical settings.
