Abstract:
Identifying muscle loss is key to ensure nutritional intervention. A UK audit across UK hospitals showed that loss of muscle is prevalent amongst hospitalised patients, even in the absence of malnutrition. This indicates that screening for malnutrition alone may overlook patients who need nutritional support.
