Malnutrition impacts the gastrointestinal (GI) function and in the same way, an untreated diagnosis of gastrointestinal disease can also lead to malnutrition, forming the vicious cycle of malnutrition and GI dysfunction. Learn about this vicious cycle and how to manage patients with GI impairment.

Lauren is the Clinical Dietetic Lead for Mucosal Immunology at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the team leader for the Paediatric Dietetic Gastroenterology team. She looks after children with various gastroenterological conditions and has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and Coeliac Disease. Lauren graduated in South Africa in 2005 and has been practising as a Paediatric Dietitian in the NHS since 2009.
