As part of Abbott’s ongoing commitment to supporting timely patient care, we are now able to offer next working-day delivery via our direct-to-patient samples service. In this article, we take a look at the process behind the sample order journey.
Abbott’s direct-to-patient sample service enables healthcare professionals to easily order up to 12 free samples from our Ensure, PaediaSure and Similac ranges, across different product types and flavours, and have them delivered directly to their patients.
The quick and simple process just became even quicker, as we’re pleased to now offer next working-day delivery* on all sample orders placed before 1pm. Faster delivery means your patients can begin their nutritional journey even sooner.
You order, we deliver
The dedicated team at our operations facility in Sittingbourne, Kent, plays a central role in the efficient and smooth fulfilment of Abbott orders, including the sample service.
Below, we’ve outlined the end-to-end journey of a sample order to demonstrate how the team ensure prompt dispatch and fast delivery to your patients.
Select up to 12 Abbott products and flavours that you want your patient to receive, and input their delivery details via the ProConnect website.
Many of our products are available in pre-packaged, mixed flavour starter packs, but samples can be mixed and matched individually across our ranges if preferred.
Once received, our customer service team will check the order and issue it to the distribution team. Your chosen samples will then be carefully picked and checked, ready to be packaged.
The samples are securely packaged in a box that clearly communicates to patients what they have been sent by request of their healthcare professional.
To support patients on their nutritional journey, each order is accompanied by a download card for an online recipe book - Providing the patient, parent or caregiver with ideas for incorporating their ONS into tasty meals and drinks.
Once boxed and labelled, sample orders are collected on schedule daily by our dedicated courier service, guaranteeing same-day dispatch for all orders placed before 1pm.
Orders placed after this time will be dispatched the next working day, with delivery within 2 working days of the order being placed.
The samples are delivered directly to your patient so they can begin using your recommended ONS as soon as possible.
They can then use the included Patient Product Request Form to identify their preferred flavours, which can be supplied to their prescribing healthcare professional.
Now with next working-day delivery, patients can expect to receive their ONS in as little as 24 hours.
