Frailty is a common and important geriatric syndrome characterised by age-associated declines in physiologic reserve and function across multiorgan systems, leading to increased vulnerability for adverse health outcomes including falls, disability, hospitalisation and mortality. There is a need to change the current malnutrition management approach from a focus on weight to targeting muscle mass.
