Our contracts go beyond the provision of equipment and products to deliver added value to NHS services through the delivery of targeted and specialised care for patients requiring enteral feeding. This includes our Hospital2Home service, Nurse Advisors and Medical Education programmes.
Abbott’s expert teams provide essential clinical resources to NHS trusts, assisting enterally fed patients in transitioning from the hospital to the community, thereby alleviating the burden on already stretched NHS services. We pride ourselves on our interactions with patients and relationships with NHS teams which are fostered through regular meetings, agreed communication channels, and the establishment of standardised procedures.
Dedicated Contract Managers are in place to help facilitate our NHS customers in receiving a seamless and hassle-free experience with each Abbott interaction. They are tasked with having an intimate knowledge of Abbott systems and processes as well as local NHS services and how best to support the patients they serve.
Abbott’s Contract Managers regularly monitor and review the contract to optimise performance and maximise customer satisfaction. We know there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach to service delivery, so we work hard to understand the local needs of healthcare professionals and patients and adapt our service provision accordingly. Our rapid response time for any troubleshooting and issue resolution provides confidence and assurance for all contractual obligations.
Our comprehensive contract reporting offers valuable market and operational insights, showcasing the added value we bring to NHS services. Through close collaboration with NHS providers, we identify areas where we can make a meaningful impact, customising our services to achieve NHS cost savings of over £6 million in a single contract area.*

The goal of our dedicated contract management team is to identify areas of contract efficiencies, work intimately with NHS customers to form plans, implement and report effectively. Each Contract Manager is responsible for the monitoring and audit of contracts we partner with the NHS on, to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and contractually agreed key performance indicators. The data which feeds into these reports is obtained from several cross functional areas and stakeholders across Abbott.
We also work on numerous collaborative initiatives, focussing on common goals including the drive towards a sustainable contract supporting the NHS in achieving its environmental goals.
