WHY HAVE I BEEN RECOMMENDED OSMOLITE 1.5KCAL?
Osmolite 1.5kcal is liquid nutrition that is given to patients as a tube feed. It is designed for people who cannot get all the energy and nutrients they need by mouth and who might have or be at risk of malnutrition.
If you are unable to eat safely, for example if you have difficulty swallowing, or you are able to eat, but can’t eat enough to meet your nutritional eeds, then your healthcare professional (e.g. consultant or dietitian) may recommend you with Osmolite 1.5kcal to help you get the nutrients you need.
WHAT IS OSMOLITE 1.5KCAL?
Osmolite 1.5kcal is liquid nutrition that is available in 500 ml, 1000 ml and 1500 ml bottles. It is high in calories compared to some of our other Osmolite products and also contains protein, vitamins and minerals that your body needs.
Osmolite 1.5kcal can be used as your only source of nutrition, for example if you are unable to eat by mouth or can be used as a supplement in addition to the food you eat.

HOW DO I TAKE OSMOLITE 1.5KCAL?
Your healthcare professional will have recommended Osmolite 1.5kcal for you, and they will tell you how much you need, how you will receive your tube feed and for how long, as this can vary from person to person. They can also answer any questions you might have. It is important that you follow the recommendations given to you by your medical team.
HOW DO I STORE OSMOLITE 1.5KCAL?
Store unopened at room temperature, and avoid prolonged exposure to light. Once the product is opened it should be resealed, stored in the fridge and consumed within 24 hours.
