The Abbott Nurse Advisor service is dedicated to listening to and understanding the needs of the people we support. Our team of qualified nurses offer you and/or your carer support and advice when you need it.

The Abbott Nurse Advisor service supports you with your enteral feeding needs after being discharged from the hospital. From training on how to use your feeding equipment to reviewing your progress, we will support you every step of the way.

SUPPORT WHILST IN HOSPITAL

Whilst in hospital, your Abbott Nurse Advisor will explain/show you:

  • How to set up and administer your feed.
  • How to use your feeding equipment e.g. feeding pumps, giving sets, and syringes.
  • How to look after your feeding tube.
  • How supplies will be delivered to you and explain the Hospital2Home service.
  • How you can arrange for additional supplies to be delivered or obtained.
  • Who to contact if you have any concerns or problems.

SUPPORT WHEN YOU ARE BACK HOME

When you are back home from the hospital, your Abbott Nurse Advisor can:

  • Teach you and/or your carer how to use and care for enteral feeding tubes, equipment and Abbott’s enteral feeding pumps where appropriate.
  • Support you and/or your carer as needed, wherever you are, for example, at home, in a respite centre, in a hospice, at a nursing home.

The Abbott Nurse Advisor telephone advice line is available 24/7 for patients and caregivers seeking answers to enteral-feed questions and/or providing remote clinical advice outside of normal working hours.
